Today was too cold to be out there, which has been like that for the past couple of days. But do you know what makes my life brighter? Omeka! Today, I had a Omeka training. I found this platform fairly effective for exhibiting your researches, making historical collections, or some sort of the archival work. The install flow was cohesive, too. Here is the flow that I followed:

  1. Go to Sites at Grinnell, and go to CPanel dashboard.
  2. Click on “domains” in the tab also named “domains”
  3. Create domain with a name that ends with your main domain. (That’ll be your sub domain!)
  4. Wait for 10 seconds or so, refresh the page, and turn on “Force HTTPS redirect”
  5. Go back to the dashboard, click on “Omeka”
  6. Click “Install application,” and choose the subdomain you just created (choose the one with https (not http) and without www!)
  7. Go to “my application” tab, and click and visit the admin page from there!

I also installed the plugins for cvs and showing the Google documents on Omeka. I will update on how it goes when I use Omeka for the next time!!
