About

My name is Chikako (any/all), and I am a researcher of sex/gender history with a special interest in prostitution, WWII, and trans-generational memory/trauma. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Global Studies with a focus on colonial history, East Asian history,  women’s history, and oral history at University of Vienna (2026-2027) and Leipzig University (2027-2028). I hold a bachelor’s degree in Gender, Women’s, Sexuality Studies with a Digital Studies concentration from Grinnell College (Grinnell, IA). As an aspiring researcher, I act upon the belief that Gender Studies is a lens that brings the silenced voiced to the surface beyond time and place, which grants us a strength to unite together for resistance and revolution.

Outside of studying, I enjoy listening to other people’s stories, crafting, and drag performance (both as an audience and a performer). My motto is “stay positive and appreciative.” If you have any questions or anything to share with me, shoot an email at inochi257[@gmail.com].
